maybe get a travel mug with a lid to stop him from sampling the coffee 🙂

We have the same issues with our male Miniature Dachshund. If we have coffee mugs out, we put a coaster over the cup to keep him out of the coffee — we’ve dubbed them our “snout guards”. Thank you Dog Shaming Editor for posting the bit about caffeine being toxic. Neither my husband nor I had any idea it could harm him — We know now and will definitely work harder to keep his snout out of our java.

We had a Pekinese that loved coffee. For about the last 3 or 4 years of his life, my Mom would give him some, of hers, each morning. Given, it was only a few licks worth, but he lived to be 16 and a half years old. (When old for a Pekinese is 12). I don’t see that a few licks worth is bad, I do think that tea would be better for him, if he drinks a lot of it. If someone took away my coffee, I’d have the same sad face, lol

I think it is awesome that when someone posts a pic about their pet doing something potentially lethal, the editors put in a response letting people know. Great job editor. I’ve seen you do this on other pics as well. Keep up the good work.

Thank you editor for the camomile tea hint. I heard that green beans were good for an upset tummy too.
