Lol! Mine do this too. It smells like you so he wants to eat it. He loves you! He’s still very cute even if a lil gross.

My malamute would do this too. Any used paper product would work. She would even steal paper towels out of your pocket while you worked if you weren’t watching. However, snotty Kleenex was her favorite. Kinda helpful when you were sick and didn’t want to get out of bed to toss in the trash but very gross!

My parents’ Airedale Ike does steal tissues from pockets and bins, he used to eat hem but now he likes to bring them to my mom as a pressie. Our Norfolk Terrier Fussel eats any tissue type thing on the street, very yuk and she later poops them out again, also yukk

I find comfort in knowing my dogs aren’t the only ones that have this nasty habit!

One of my former dogs learned that when she pulled a kleenex out of the box a new one appeared. I had to hide all the tissue boxes or she would just sit there and pull them all out. Great toy.

We have several theories in our family as to why dogs have an obsession with paper products like tissues and napkins. I think it’s about the smell of the item. My brother thinks it’s about the act of ripping it to shreds that satisfies some sort of primal urge.

Both of mine do that and I was telling someone about it and I actually retched just thinking about it. It is so gross I can’t stand it. Also, one walks by the tissue box that’s low enough to reach and daintily pulls out clean tissues and eats them.

One of my dachshunds does this, she would eat the ends of q- tips too. My house rule is that tissues get flushed or go in kitchen trash(my little girls can’t get in there)the problem is she knows Grandma is always good for a tissue in the pocket, purse, bag, sweater…. Lets just say Grandma is usually the one in trouble!

My English Springer Spaniel and Golden Retriever LOVE to retrieve tissues from pockets. Mine, of course but you don’t get a pass just because you’re a guest and have tissues in your pocket, Napkins as well. My granddaughter still sits on her paper napkins.

My German Shepard loves to eat used tissues! Last time I had a cold, there had to be 30 dirty tissues in the trash. I turned my back on him for only a few minutes and when I came back in the room the trash bin was completely empty!

My 2 year old husky has gone as far as chewing a hole through my pocket trying to get the tissue.
