    My husband’s cat, of all creatures, was the bin raider when he was in college. Eventually they had to attach the thing to the wall with bungee cords and clamp the lid on to keep the cat out.

    We now put our bin behind a bolted door after finding it ransacked! It took two attempts, we thought that just shutting it away behind a closed door would be enough, but Betty has door handle skills! I think she may be part raccoon and it will only be a matter of time before she finds a way…again!

    I had to put my 18 year old beagle to sleep and when I came home sad and exhausted I found that with the last of his strength he’d torn the trash liner. Beagles just love trash!!

    solution-
    place empty trashback with slightly old chicken in it inside the trash can.

    sprinkle cayenne on the chicken, bag, etc.

    Beagle, trash bin, food motivated…lost cause for human parents. I know from where I speak, I’m ‘mom’ & ‘ Grammy’ to presently Beagles # 3 & 4 at my home. & a Grand a Beagle that belongs to my son ( a rescued) lovely little guy!! These are numbers 2,3 &4… Numbers 1. & 2 ( now across the Rainbow bridge, I’m quite certain, living in trash bin glory !!! God love them, all!!
