My pomchi won’t eat off his plate, either. Have to put his food on the floor. Odd little puppies!! Also petrified of water bottles and plastic garbage bags.

Anxiety is one of the worst companions to have in life. A Thundershirt would do wonders for this dear soul. You can find DIY patterns online.

This photo makes me sad. I have had several dogs from shelters, and they have all had issues that improved over time. If you want a pure bred, please make sure that you make sure to get it from a GOOD breeder. Make sure that you aren’t getting a dog from a puppy mill. Even better, there are also GREAT dogs, even pure breed dogs, that are available at rescues.

So, if this good and understanding family haven’t took him, what would happen with this good little soul? Mind that it would still exist and still suffer…

        Agreed, KYSMOS.

You know what makes me sad? People who shame others’ dog choices. OF COURSE people should rescue. No one, here especially, would disagree. But you have no idea where a dog came from, even a purebred, and how it came to be part of a family. Let’s celebrate that a precious, sensitive little creature is loved and care for by people who are trying to accommodate her needs.

I realized a month after getting my chihuahua that I had gotten her from a puppy mill. I am so glad I did. I get so upset thinking of the life she would have led had I not RESCUED her from that place. Shelters are not the only place animals need to be rescued from.

Meredith your absolutely correct in the fact that puppy mill dogs need to be RESCUED just as much as any pet from a shelter…I’ve watched documentaries on puppy mills and I get sick to my stomach every time I think about it. And little Twix whether he/she was a shelter, a pet shop, or a puppy mill dog still needs to have a good life with good pet parents. In regards to Linda’s comment, It doesn’t specify WHERE Twix came from so we shouldnt jump to make judgement calls, thats for a different site. Good luck with Twix!

Yes, they need help too but you are supporting an evil business practice and allowing it to continue by giving them money. If no one buys their puppies, they go out of business and stop breeding. You are allowing them to continue and breed more. meanwhile a Chihuahua in a shelter just got killed. pitties and chis are the top unwanted breeds.

My chi is the same way. She’s not afraid of her dish she just won’t eat out of it. She will only eat off of a 4×4 square I crocheted. One of my other dogs won’t eat out of bowls if her tag hits the bowl. She’s afraid of the noise. It’s funny how they’re afraid of the most benign objects but have not problem wanting to take on a dog 10 times their size!

It is so sad to live with fear. Be hopeful, though. Our recent rescue dog was afraid of many things, especially stairs. Now, only three months later, she scampers up and down like a pro. She also didn’t know what to do with toys. Now, she loves them. Good luck. I know your love and understanding help little Twix. Look how you figured out what she’ll eat from. That was great work.

My precious mini poodle takes his food out of his dish a few pellets at a time, carries it from his dish in the kitchen to the throw rug in the living room and drops it.Then he eats it pellet by pellet and goes back for more. Forget moving his dish or the throw rug as that causes him to pick another spot to carry his food. I can hear his little nails on the living room hardwood floor, tik tik tik, for the longest time when he eats, round trip by round trip…

I had a even smaller Maltese who was afraid of anything that had eyes later in life. I suspect this had something to do with her litter order and submissiveness.

We ordered an original anxiety wrap for our little dogs and it worked wonders. There is a seller called My Doggie’s Closet on ebay we found to be really good.

I had a dog who wasw afraid of his cermic dish. I realized that the clanging of his collar against the dish scared him. I bought him a plastic bowl and he was fine.
