Oh my, sounds like something my brittany would have done in her youth if we’d had horses! Instead she contented herself with hunting pheasants alone (i.e. running away)

She’s fine? How about the kidney and liver damage from the excessive amounts of vitamins and minerals. get her blood work done, I bet she is not “fine” and she should have had her stomach pumped.

She went to the vet, was examined, and had bloodwork. I have a background in vet medicine. The wormer was the main concern. As you can see, she didn’t eat every morsel after pulling the sealed shipping box off the dining room table while we were out. She probably ingested more cardboard all said and done. But thanks for your concern.

Glad she’s okay. The last time I took my dogs to the groomer, there was a pup on the veterinary side who had gotten into the horse de-wormer. She had to spend 3 days in doggy intensive care, but managed to go home.

Also, I’m glad my dogs are scared of horses. Less chance of them finding the horse medicine that way.

The daily continuous wormer used in horses is the same used in dogs for heart worm monthly. There was a horse I knew at a stable who broke out of his stall one night and broke into people’s trunks and ate pounds and pounds of pelleted wormer. We were all quite concerned, but the equine vet said it is virtually impossible to overdose a horse on it. Good to know, but better safe than sorry.

I’m 99% certain if I had horses my brittany would attempt to do this. For now she has to make do with stealing dog food at daycare.
