As the owner of two rescue wiener dogs, Dog Shaming wants to advocate for rescue and shelter adoptions.
Starting this week, we’ll be showcasing some adoptable dogs each Friday! Each post will come with all the necessary information needed to get in contact with the rescue organization.
If you have a naughty dog that’s available for adoption, please submit a picture and contact information by clicking here and titling your picture “Adoptable Fridays”.
Every pet deserves to be loved (and shamed).
I think this is an outstanding idea! Rescue animals have many shaming issues- that endear them to us and show that they need extra love!
I’ve submitted a photo to you today of smelly Monty, he was adopted by us from an animal sanctuary just one month ago and he would certainly approve of this idea!
Laddie The Collie
I’m planning of doing the same thing with both of our “obnoxious” rescue mutts.
As the happy mama of a fantastic (and sometimes ashamed) shelter mutt, I think this is an awesome idea!
it’s a great idea! i’ve adopted my two dogs from a shelter and they’re the best pets i could have ever wished for! congrats!!
This is wonderful. Every little bit helps.
Wonderful idea, thank you! I volunteer with a fabulous no-kill shelter here in Brooklyn taking pix of the adoptable pets, can I send you some shots? We’re doing a photo session in a week or two.
I have two shelter pups at home and I volunteer at my local humane society and I think this is a wonderful idea. Might be submitting one or two from BDHS (in Massachusetts). Great thinking, guys!
We too have a rescue we would not part with. She thinks she owns US now……great idea
Love, love love my revue chiweenie and my old lady terrier too!
crap. this blog is already a time-suck, now i’m going to end up with 2 dozen dogs under my roof. THANKS A LOT.
FANTASTIC idea! Thank you!!!
This is awesome! Congratulations! You are very kind!
Charlotte shames us every day. worth every shame too. so glad we rescued her from Hope Rescue Shelter
This is such a Wonderful idea! Thank you thank you thank you!
All our dogs have been resue dogs and we love them to bits. Fantastic initiative.
Love it, and agree with everyone’s comments. It reminds me of the Bow to Wow feature on the Today Show with Jill Rappaport, which has a 100% success rate, simply by honing in on specific dogs and highlighting them. I know it’s very new and so still a work in progress, but after seeing a notice on the site that said the first Adoptable Friday had been a great success, I want to know details that weren’t provided: specifically, which dogs got adopted (obviously wishing for 100%)? I’d also be curious to know if the rescue groups noticed any DS-related uptick in site visits?
(Also have to totally agree with Patty, 🙂 …)
WONDERFUL, PERFECT! Rescue dogs ALL deserve a loving home, with people who can & will give them a second (or third) chance at happiness & forever security. We adopted our adored lab mix Ivy, who sadly is no longer with us, but I’m certain she’s romping, playing in perfect health, in heaven. She was forever grateful, & I swear she always followed me EVERYWHERE, always watching, gazing at me, no joke, for 13 years. Precious, absolutely the best thing I’ve ever done. Many heartfelt thanks, Dog Shaming, for becoming an OUTSTANDING sponsor.
I think adoptable Fridays are the best. I loved your website before and I love it even more now. Thank you for putting your popularity to good use. I want to adopt every dog that I see!
What a great idea!
I’ve already shown to a friend of mine that takes care of cats…. so, She can adopt the idea, but with cats.
Cool! Isn’t it?
What a great idea! I have a shelter dog and 7 shelter cats, and they are great! There are way too many animals languishing in shelters. I hope you get a good response!

This is a great way to get the word out about the options for dog adoption. We adopted our second Boxer from NORCAL Boxer Rescue a few months ago, and both have been fantastic family dogs. I would highly recommend doing so to anyone looking for a great addition to their family.
