Adoptable Fridays – Buddy

Pipe down pups! What’s the excitement? Goodness these young’uns rattle my nerves!

Buddy lives in Cookeville, TN and is being adopted out though A.A.R.F. After 8 years of taking care of my special human in her quiet apartment who would have expected a gentledog such as me to wind up in a foster home with a bunch of young dogs or those infernal cats. When I was young I learned to respect my elders and not be running around jumping on furniture and house guests and all that. I’m not complaining about my hosts, they’re real nice people and talk soft and call me a good boy and all, even have some real tasty vittles and treats. But with all the wrestling and running and toy squeaking from these whippersnappers a fella can’t even get a good nap anymore.

What I’d like most is a nice retirement home with a human or two, a couple of leisurely walks every day, a good brush down to keep my coat looking handsome and a soft bed to sleep on. I wouldn’t mind a bit to spend my twilight years getting petted and watching favorite movies and tv shows. I know how to mind my manners in the house and do my business outdoors where it belongs. It doesn’t bother me to sit in a crate for a spell, but it’s really not necessary. I manage just fine in the house if you need to go to work or run some errands or whatnot. I like car rides every now and then too if you’d like to take me along, but I haven’t met many strangers or other critters, so I tend to be a little shy when they’re around. I don’t bark much, only when I’ve got something important to tell you. I do get real excited when I see you’ve put your shoes on because I’m hoping it means we’ll be going out for a little fresh air.

If you think you could help an ol’ guy out please contact the good folks at All About Rescue and Fixin’ (A.A.R.F.) at and just ask them to tell you all about Buddy, or check out my profile here.

Buddy

(P.S. Buddy is fostered in Cookeville, TN out-of-state adoptions are possible)

Adoptable Fridays- Fire

The dog pictured, Miss Fire, is NOT a Military Working Dog but the dog of a Military member, SGT Kyle Henry who was injured in Iraq and who died upon his return to the USA in October 2011. Fire went to live with SGT Henry’s best friend in November 2011. The friend can no longer keep her and SGT Henry’s mother lives in a “No Pets” retirement community. Fire’s family is moving in 2 1/2 weeks and lives in the Tampa Bay, FL area. If you can give Fire a home you may not be helping a Hero dog…but you will MOST CERTAINLY be helping the beloved companion of a HERO Warrior who is no longer with us. If interested, please email SGT Henry’s mother at patricia.henry5@gmail.com with your contact information.

Adoptable Fridays (Butterfly and Dragonfly)

We are still at the shelter waiting for our forever family, we’ve been here so long that they tried to dress us up in Santa hats but we just wanted to play so they had to photoshop in the hats, we’re not ashamed, we are clever!

Dragonfly and Butterfly are two sisters who are located at Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta, GA. Their profiles are here and here. They have been at the shelter for way too long and are ready to find their forever homes. They are both spayed and UTD on shots.

Adoptable Fridays – Mindy

This is Mindy, the foster dog. She is available for adoption through the Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in DC. She is barely 5 months old and uses her looks to get away with murder. She also is one of the funniest dogs I’ve ever met. When she falls asleep she is out cold and has fallen off the couch slow motion while asleep. When she is awake, she loves to constantly wrestle with my two dogs, much to their dismay.

Captain Jack – ADOPTED!!!

I received this email from Captain Jack‘s foster mom just a few days before we got married. It was the best wedding gift we could have ever asked for. Thank you, Amber and godspeed Cap’n Jack!

Hi!! I just wanted to thank you! I submitted Captain Jack a few weeks ago for the adoptable Fridays — guess what!? He got adopted!!!! I am located in PA and Jack’s new home is all the way in TN!! It is all because of your website. Captain Jack is deaf and his new mommy actually teaches deaf children and dogs. She already has a deaf dog and will teach Captain Jack all of her hand signals. I am thrilled. This was the best Christmas present that Jack and I got!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

“I’m a Great Dane chew toy and I LOVE every minute of it!”

This is Pup. She’s adoptable through Lafayette Animal Aid in Lafayette, LA. She showed up to her foster mom’s house as a starving, skin and bones 8 month old Jack Russell mix puppy. She’s now 1 year old and has gained 7lbs and weighs a whopping 13lbs. She’s spayed, UTD on shots and has been heartworm protected for the next few months. Pup is crate trained and house trained. She gets along with all size dogs and she tries hard to befriend kitties. Her foster mom has 3 other animals, including an older cat, and can’t keep her. Please contact Lafayette Animal Aid for more information.
